this is partly due to supply/demand and the fact they are a good investment. The reason they are expensive is that they don't really lose money, the pre-loved price will be about the same as the eriba cost when it was new. There are also 3 and 4 berth eribas including bunks, but these are probably more suitable for younger children. you will see on the eriba forum that many owners do have families.
An awning with a sleeping liner or annexe or pup tents would mean the children could come too and they would probably prefer their own space anyway. You don't need to wait for the children to grow to get an eriba.
